Fundamentals is run by three partners, Chris Ambler, John Stoughton and Alastair Waldron.

Chris Ambler MA (Cantab)
Chris Ambler has worked on brand development and marketing communications for over 25 years in both the consumer and business-to-business sectors. Financial services clients have included Goldman Sachs, Merrill Lynch, American Express Bank and Candover.
Chris specialises in the development of strategic commercial solutions for clients and has long felt that a real understanding of investor needs should play a prominent role in the development of fund marketing programmes and fundamentals has enabled him to put that theory into effective practice.
Chris is a Business Leader member of the Marketing Society.

John Stoughton BSC (Hons)
John Stoughton has worked in marketing consultancy for 17 years. During this period a significant amount of activity has been around the development of third party corporate partnerships including work for Barclays, Winterthur Life and GE Capital.
John set up Fundamentals with Chris Ambler in recognition of the growing need for outsourced services, offering specialist advice and capabilities around the Fund/Asset Management sector. Recent activity has focused on the proposition and positioning of a US Fund followed by a substantial contact marketing programme, a major study into the infrastructure market and a range of marketing programmes for a leading global professional firm.

Alastair Waldron
Having worked across a wide range of market sectors during his career, Alastair Waldron has focused on the Financial Services sector since 1996 when he set up a specialist consultancy. He has extensive experience in the marketing and selling of investment products. He has worked with HSBC Asset Management, Merrill Lynch, Credit Suisse Buckmaster and Moore, GE Capital, Standard Bank, Barclays Bank, Premier Asset Management and Close Asset Management. He has also worked on the client side as a Marketing Director. Since joining Fundamentals Alastair has led a number of programmes including a brand refresh for Salans with new brand guidelines and templates, and a business development programme for Close investment.
Projects have included everything from major new product development and launches with on and off line campaigns to database and direct marketing projects and he has worked with a number of clients on proposition development and business development activity.
